How do we restore trust? According to new research presented by The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), sustainability reporting has become an essential tool to help businesses and governments rebuild trust and confidence in the wake of economic collapse.

The 9th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility: CSR and Global Governance has opened in the Croatian capital, Zagreb, with more than 24 countries taking part. In recent years the EU has mainstreamed sustainable development into a broad range of its policies. In particular, the EU has taken the lead in the fight against climate change and the promotion of a low-carbon economy. At the same time, unsustainable trends persist in the EU in several areas and the efforts need to be intensified.

Earth Day has grown in importance since the first one in 1970. The most critical issues have changed, but action is still needed on its 40th anniversary. It seems that the world is in greater peril than ever. While climate change is the greatest challenge of our time, it also presents an unprecedented opportunity to build a healthy, prosperous, clean energy economy now and for the future.
